Bible not intending to Deceive?

“If the Bible was intended to deceive why is there all the good verses to not be deceitful, being good and honest to all, fruits of the Spirit, etc.”
Bible not intending to Deceive?

Many an evangelical Christian Iʼm sure has studied the non-Christian religions (like Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism), and also studied groups that evangelicals label as “cults?” like JWs, Mormons, Christian Scientists, Scientologists, etc.? They all have sacred writings that talk about not being deceitful, being good and honest to all, and things similar to “fruits” of the Spirit, etc.

But as an evangelical Christian they were warned that “even the tiniest drop of poison” in religious teachings could ruin a whole lot of good teachings found in a particular religion or cult. So they were taught to ignore all the good stuff other religions and cults held in common, and concentrate on keeping away from that “drop of poison,” which mostly consisted of beliefs that nobody could prove to nonbelievers, nor disprove to believers, stuff which was highly debatable.

Hence, your question should be, why do so many good teachings appear in so many places, yet they disagree on metaphysical beliefs? Why indeed. Iʼd say it's time for you to learn to concentrate on the large vast area of shared goodness and good teachings and thank God for that, in whatever book or person they may be found. Neither does the presence of such teachings in so many “holy” books mean the books contain “correct” metaphysical beliefs.
